Community Guidelines for Sage Social Media Properties

We use social media as part of our commitment to engagement and to provide information to our community.

We have a presence on several social media sites that you can use to keep up to date with Sage news and activities. These accounts are subject to our community guidelines, which can be reviewed below and are subject to change:

  1. We cannot offer medical advice or engage in discussion about or promotion of, specific products or treatment options — ours or other companies’ — on our social properties. Your physician or healthcare provider, who is authorized in your country of residence, remains your best source of information about medicines and treatments.
  2. The following content is not acceptable and can be subject to deletion or blocking of users who violate these terms:
    • Content that includes profanity, defamatory, libelous, offensive or demeaning language (including images, videos and links)
    • Content that is misleading, fraudulent or deceptive
    • Disparaging or threatening comments about others
    • Content about specific products or treatment options
    • Posts that are excessively repetitive and/or disruptive to the community or are SPAM-like in nature
    • Posts containing proprietary, confidential, sensitive or non-public information about, or related to, Sage or any other person or company.
    • Posts sharing personal information about you and any connection to Sage
    • Any other content that is not appropriate for a social media site or is not consistent with Our Values, Our Values Code, or the policies that flow from it, and all applicable laws and regulations (individually or collectively, “Our Standards”).
  3. Please keep in mind that Sage does not verify, represent or endorse any opinions or information expressed by third-party organizations or individuals posting content to the Sage social properties. Any content posted by anyone other than Sage is the responsibility of the submitter and not Sage.
  4. By posting on one or more of our social media channels, you understand that your posts, and any ideas or techniques contained in them, may be freely used by us in any way and in any media, including on this forum, on our other websites and social media pages, and in our business. Accordingly, please do not submit any ideas or materials that you wish to keep confidential or for which you expect to receive compensation. In addition, when you post in any of our social media channels, your name, likeness and social media handle will be visible and associated with your post and if we re-use your post elsewhere, we may display your name, likeness and handle there as well.
  5. Social media properties should not be used to report side effects, safety information, or product complaints. If you believe that you have experienced a side effect while taking a Sage product or have a medical question related to your condition, please consult your physician immediately. If you or someone you know has possibly experienced a side effect while taking a Sage product or would like to report a product complaint, please contact Sage Therapeutics at 844-4-SAGERX (844-472-4379) or in the United States, you may also report side effects to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or by calling 800-FDA-1088. If you inadvertently include any content related to a side effect, a product complaint, and/or safety information in your post, Sage may need to contact you to find out more information. This is due to regulatory requirements concerning safety reporting.
  6. We do not aim to store your social media profile unique ID, email or other personal details. However, in case of an adverse event or product issue, we would need to store de-identified information about you, such as your initials, DOB, age, or gender. This information is required to be submitted to the Sage Drug Safety department and/or regulatory authorities. Your comment, response, or other posting may also be submitted to law enforcement if we have a good faith belief that disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to detect and prevent fraud or to protect the safety of the public or an individual.

Our Policy

Medical and health topics may be discussed on Sage social properties but should not be construed as medical advice.

We may occasionally share links to third-party sites when we think you will find the information helpful. However, please note that this does not in any way constitute an official endorsement of the individual, site or company. We are not responsible for the terms and conditions, privacy policy or content of any website accessed through links or references in our social properties.

Please note that we may unfollow a user at our discretion.

We want all users of Sage’s social media properties to feel free to share. However, because our social media profiles are public and anyone can engage with us, we cannot be responsible for views expressed other than our own. Please read at your own risk and know that, while we are listening, we cannot certify or validate the accuracy of statements made by users of Sage’s social media properties, and opinions expressed by outside users on our social media properties are not representative of the opinions of Sage.

We reserve the right to modify and delete any of our content including third party posts as well as remove any of our social media properties and their contents at any time in our sole discretion. Your use of our social media properties indicates your acceptance of any revisions to these terms. Also, while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently, Sage may take any actions it deems appropriate to ensure a particular site is not disrupted or abused in any way.

In addition to the privacy policy and terms of use of the applicable third-party social media properties, your use of our social properties is governed by Sage’s Terms and Conditions of Use and Privacy Policy.
